The Kelvin Copper Project spans one patented and 226 lode claims. Tempestas Copper Inc, a company that took ownership in late 2020, is driving the effort to commence mining and copper extraction, building on earlier, decades long exploration.
A lode is a defined piece of land, which measures up to 20.66 acres in size, and by its definition of being a lode, gives legal protection and exclusive rights to extract minerals.
The Kelvin Deposit’s copper is the most abundant type: A porphyry copper system—deep, widespread copper mineralization, tied to ancient volcanic activity. The most abundant element at the Kelvin Deposit is situated in the “Tea Cup Granodiorite”.
Most of the copper sits in a slab-like zone, dipping 20 degrees northwest, ranging from 1,640 to 2,900 feet below the surface. Drilling has revealed a higher-grade core, about 120-200 feet thick, grading between 0.42% and 0.66% copper. Drilling activity to ascertain the volume and type of copper has been occurring since 1970, with some vertical core test drilling holes reaching more than 3,000 feet deep.
The Zelleweger Mine and The Kelvin Copper Deposit, combine to make up our Arizona Super Mine.
Open, brownfield site, ready for open cast mining.
Zelleweger Mine is Patented land, with proof of mineralization and in-perpetuity ownership.
In the USA, owning patented land gives ownership of the land and the minerals underneath it. This is different from most countries, where land ownership excludes what’s underground. Therefore, owning patented, American land, with confirmed minerals beneath it gives corporations far higher likelihood of making significant profits.
For land to be patented, proof of mineralization is required. Rights are in perpetuity.
