Tempestas Copper

The History

Purchased by the Johnson family In 1932, the property included the proven Zellweger mine in the centre of the property. Before the end of that year, Mr. Arnold H. Johnson discovered what he called “Black Copper” or what is commonly referred to as rare earth minerals.

In the 1940s and 50s, he mined the molybdenum rich “Rare Metals Mine” and supplied the rare earth mineral to the WWII war effort via a grant from the US Government. From 1953-1957, Mr. Arnold H. Johnson increased his claims after finding additional copper deposits, along with gold and molybdenum.

…Oct 9, Kenneth N. Shonk report Update…The Kelvin Copper Deposit and project is located about 5 miles south of the ASARCO Ray copper open-pit mine, the second largest copper mine in Arizona. It consists of 32 BLM lode claims known as Kelvin Prospect 1-32, and one patented claim known as the Zellweger. The Kelvin Copper Deposit is located in the Mineral Creek Mining District of Pinal County near Kelvin, Arizona and is situated within Sections 8, 9, and 17 of Township 4 South, Range 13 East, Gila and Salt River Base and Meridian.

“As per our valuation report (03/28/2005), we confirm that the combined commercial valuation of the Asset/s (1.2bln lbs) has been calculated by us and may be considered at Todays’ current Market value price at $2.45 per pound (Oct-2019) copper to be valued at USD$2,945,000,000.00 (Two Billion Nine Hundred Forty-Five Million United States Dollars)”
